Group Project 1 (GP1)

THE TASK:

As a group, introduce a musician, or a music group, or one particular piece of music to the entire class.

The Specifics:

• 1. The entire group must agree on the group selection.
• 2. Tell the class why you choose this.
• 3. Describe the music, using the vocabulary introduced in our text. (And other appropriate ones)
• 4. If you share a song, include the lyrics.
• 5. Present it either as a narration or a discussion, spoken by as many members as possible. Length of oral presentation: 2 minutes.
• 6. You can study what critics say about the musician/group/piece of music to help you prepare your presentations. However, it is crucial THAT YOU TELL US WHAT YOU THINK AND HOW YOU FEEL. That is, your personal responses are more important and meaningful.
• 7. Post the highlights of your group’s introduction and if you like, the music on our class blog by next Thursday (11/30).
• 8. The real people group presentations will be next Friday (11/31). There will be question time after each presentation.
