In my opinion,Christmas makes great difference with any other festival. And i took it seriously when i was in junior high, because i was studied in a catholic school for three years.I remember that when Christmas coming, our teacher used to lead us to sing Christmas carols alone the streets and our school always celebrated Christmas grandly.
I really enjoy the atmosphere that Christmas brings. It shares love and peace with everyone in the world as Christmas celebration becomes more prevalent.
Christmas is the celebration of birth of Christ who sacrificed for truth and faith. As result, we should remember this meaningful day and pass down to our offspring forever.

the meaning of CHRISTMAS to me
In the past, before Christmas, I will decorate my house and the Christmas tree. At Christmas Eve, I used to go for a Mass in the Church with my family. But now, for me, a overseas student from Macau, it's almost impossible for me to do that. I hope that I can celebrate this meaningful festival with my family and my friends in Macau again after 4 years. And it will be the most unforgettable one.

For me, for this year, I had a different X'mas day.
Due to the religion's difference, I seldom celebrate this kind of holidays in the past, while this year was something different......
First, because my birthday is before X'mas in a week and I moved out from home, my sister decided to invite me to have dinner in restaurant 「陶板屋」at X'mas Eve. Good food, good atmosphere, good service, not only satisfy my stomach but also soul.
Second, my friend EJ brought up an idea to have hot pot in my rented home, then ten friends join with us. It's my first time to celebrate X'mas with hot pot, though sound strange, but why not? C'est la vie.
All in all, the meaning of X'mas to me is a day remind us to appreciate others' help. With my family and my friends' accompany, I could live a more happy life. I love you.

The meaning of Christmas to me
I know more or less about the meaning of Christmas. I am not a Christian myself but I had studied in two Catholic schools for 14 years. I had attended the Christmas Eve mid-night masses and joined the Christmas tea parties in school during those years.
Christmas is the celebration of birth of Christ who brought love and the message of God to us. He sacrificed for our sins. We should remember his sacrifice by doing good deeds and share our love and happiness with others on this day.
As Christmas is now celebrated worldwide among Christians and people of different religious beliefs and even atheists, its true meaning is almost lost. Nowadays when one hears the word Christmas, one tends to visualize Santa Claus and presents and shopping and extravagant Christmas dinners and parties etc. It is now almost totally commercialized and is the occasion for businesses make money out of our savings.
For me, I think Christmas is a time of joy, a time of peace and a time for sharing our gifts we have. I used to write Christmas cards and sent out Christmas presents to my friends in the past and I think they will be delighted when receiving them. I think Christmas is worth celebrating. On this day you will see people and enjoying the festival with their families like I did for so many years when I was living with my Dad, Mom and my brother in Macau.
Anyway, though it was a bit late, I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year^^ Really miss Macau and my family these days…

鄭星佑-The meaning of X'mas to me-u1587-Echo
The meaning of X'mas to me used to be nothing before, because my home is located in the country.
I think it is a cultural difference between countryside and city,so my family celebrate traditional festivals, such as "Dragon Boat Festival","Moon Festival"or other else, but we seldom celebrate western holidays.
However, when I was a high school student,I moved out and rented a house with my friend near our school for the convenience of study.
At that time, whenever a western festival comes,we often go out for fun and celebrate it by some activities we planned.
I remember that when X'mas comes, the train station is always decorated with cristmas trees or some colorful lamps, and on that day,My friends and I will go eating somthing special and see a movie, then back to our dorm on foot accompanied by the atmosphere of X'mas.
We often walk as well as sing all the way, don't care about what other people think of us.
The meaning of X'mas to me meant nothing before, but now,I consider it to be a festival which I can have fun with my friends and enjoy the peaceful night.

A creative person
Thomas J. Hanks is the most creative person to me.
I adored him since I was a teenage.
I love his acting, his attitude toward his career, especially the role he plays.
His roles usually have some hard time to go, they have to face the biggest fear in their life.
In Philadelphia, Thomas J. Hanks plays a gay who had AIDS and be dismissed on his job. The story describes how he struggle to get his job back, & how he face death.
In The Terminal, he plays a passenger whose country suddenly collapsed and he was stick in the airport. It's cool that he acts as he is a foreign speaker of America, having strange accent and can't read English.
Watching his movie, I can often feel what he what to tell to audience. Thomas J. Hanks is the most creative person to me.

張鳳羚 Homework 5 (u1587 3G)
The creative person I think is Leonardo da Vinci.
He was a Tuscan polymath: scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician, poet, and writer.
Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the "Renaissance man" or universal genius, a man whose seemingly infinite curiosity was equalled only by his powers of invention.
He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived.
It is primarily as a painter that Leonardo was and is renowned.
Two of his works, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper occupy unique positions as the most famous, most reproduced and most parodied portrait and religious painting of all time, their fame approached only by Michelangelo's Creation of Adam.
Leonardo's drawing of the Vitruvian Man is also iconic.
Perhaps fifteen paintings survive, the small number due to his constant, and frequently disastrous, experimentation with new techniques, and his chronic procrastination.
Nevertheless these few works, together with his notebooks, which contain drawings, scientific diagrams, and his thoughts on the nature of painting, comprise a contribution to later generations of artists only rivalled by that of his contemporary, Michelangelo.
As an engineer, Leonardo conceived ideas vastly ahead of his own time, conceptualising a helicopter, a tank, concentrated solar power, a calculator, and the double hull, and outlining a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics.
Relatively few of his designs were constructed or even feasible during his lifetime, but some of his smaller inventions such as an automated bobbin winder and a machine for testing the tensile strength of wire entered the world of manufacturing unheralded.
As a scientist, he greatly advanced the state of knowledge in the fields of anatomy, civil engineering, optics, and hydrodynamics.

What would we as a group do if we won a lottery of 10 million NT
I think we will buy every member of the group a personal computer. It seems that it is the most important equipment since we are the students of CSIE-Computer Science and Information Engineering.
We cannot live without computer! Then, maybe we can have some fun like going abroad together and also, to improve our English ability.Since the world has become a global village, we cannot say
that English is not important anymore. English is the most common way to communicate with people around the world.
I believe that there is still a lot of money being left off. We will donate a part of the money to
Thinking of there are a lot of poor people in the world, I think we will use the rest of the money to do some charity such as helping the faraway country or beggars in Taiwan. (I know some of us may want to help the Africans who have nothing to eat, but seriously 10 million NT is not that much so we decide to help our fellow countryman first.) That is what we as a group do if we won a lottery of 10 million NT. You can see how nice person we are by what we have done with the money.

As a CISE's student , I think Steve Jobs , the promoter of Apple , as a creative person. He developed his own thought as a young age , and it have a lot to do with his childhood. His father is the person who gave him some rough concept about contrivances .
His family moved toMountain View(is known as 矽谷) later , where he learn lots of electro knowledge from Larry Land ."It's is a wonderful thing to live in a please where is filled of engineers " he said . Actually , he isn't quit a good student , he always be treated as a pixilated student. As far as he concerned , being a genius have little to do with the scores you get in school . Being encouraged by a teacher , Mme Hill , he started to have interests in schoolwork . As a senior high school student , he had already participate in some proseminars in HP , where he met the most important associate , Steve Wozniak .
Jobs once said that science and new techniques is the key of improving human's life .Working with the other "Steve" , they became groundbreaker of hikers . Their excogitation , blue box , was nearly to across the line . Jobs has his own allure which let Wozniak leave HP to develop personal computer with him . With the thought about personal computer , two Steve created the first motherboard of apple , this a foundation stone of apple . Ipod , a great product which comes form apple is also a attestation of Steve Jobs creativity .

The person I would like to introduce is always a singer, a rap singer.
The name is Tupac Shakur aka 2pac.
He is also known as the ghetto poet, and is famous for writing meaningful lines and lyrics.
He died at the young age of 25. he was shot and killed. However, his music is still being released after his death.
The official statements for these albums are his unreleased sound treks, but others thought that maybe 2pac didn't really died. May be he is just hiding from some enemies, and faking his death and get underground seems like a good choice.
The music video of the song "I ain't mad at cha" was released days after his death, and is surprisingly similar to what happened the day he died. His song "Life goes on" actually sings about his death and about his own funeral. Further more, he was claim to be dead on Friday the 13, 7 days after the shot up, which matches the famous 7 days theories.
There are further extends on the 7 days theories, but I would like to introduce some of his poetry. My favorite song is "Thug Mansion". It is about how people like himself would like a
place to stay after they go to heaven. And here is part of his lyrics from the song.
Dear mama don't cry, Your baby boy's doin' good
Tell the homies I'm in heaven and it ain't got hoods
Seen a show with Marvin Gaye last night
It had me shook
Drinking peppermint schnapps with Jackie Wilson and Sam Cook
Then some lady named Billie Holiday sang
Sittin there kickin it with Malcolm till the day came
Lil' Latasha sure grown, tell the lady in the liquor store that she's forgiven
So come home
Maybe in time you'll understand, only God can save us
Where Miles Davis cutting lose with the band
Just think of all the people that you knew in the past that passed on
They in heaven found peace at last
Picture a place that they exist, together
There has to be a place better than this, in Heaven
So right before I sleep dear God what I'm asking
Remember this face, save me a place
In Thugz Mansion
His talent is really amazing. I would like to show some of his works in class if I have the chance. I actually wanted to introduce him at the last group presentation, but since it is a group project, we chose the pop singer instead.

To me, Jay chou is a creative person. He may be still young, but look out world! He may surprise you! If you ask around, many would say that the music world has a new leader - the real king is Jay chou. As a child, Jay chou was never too good at academic subjects, and when he didn't get into any college, a lot of people predicted that he won't have much potential in life. His mom always worried about his future, but he never did. "I knew I still had music to depend on. For everything else, I've had too much confidence, but it is for my musical talent that I'm so sure of myself," he recalls.
With all the musical talent, it isn't surprising that Jay started out as a songwriter. Since the age of sixteen, he has been writing songs for many of the most popular singers. Today, he has already written for some of the most popular Asian singers, including Coco Lee, Jacky Wu, Valen Hsu, Power Station, etc.
It was only in 2000 that Jay released his own debut album "Jay", with the main style being R & B / rap. Singer/actress Vivian Hsu wrote the lyrics to three of the songs in the album: Cute Woman, Istanbul, and Tornado. Jay's soft and smooth voice is especially soothing and serene, making this first album an immediate hit. Each song in the album has its own, different style, and skillfully, Jay used his voice to suit each song's character.
Ultimately, it is Jay's creative talent that has brought him to fame. His first two albums were nearly created all by himself - songwriting, producing, harmonizing, etc. In his concerts, it is not unusual to see him play the accompaniment as well as sing at the same time onstage, while his fans cheer wildly from below.

I tought he was a creative person because of his various skills in playing basketball. Not only did he made good shots, but he could also steal ball and slam dunk. Part I About the Bluemen performance
A. Transcribe the complete text
Your attention please.
Thank you for choosing earth as your planetary vehicle.
We hope you enjoy the many wonderful features of this planet.
As you hurtle through the cosmos, please note;however.
That in the event of continued inaction in the face of global warming, your seat cushion can be used as a flotation device.
Also, please take a moment to locate this planet's emergency exits.
As you can see, there aren't any.
Ear....earth to America!
Can you hear?
Sending out a message, loud and clear.
Can you hear?
B. What do you think of this performance?
I think maybe the meaning of this performance is to warn people on the Earth the problem of global warming.
They send out the message in a very specific way.
hum....it's a little bit funny...
I noticed some sentences that they said in the performance.
"Also,please.......as you can see,there aren't any."
There's no emergency exits on our planet,it's true.
It means that if disaster or something else break out on the Earth, all of us have to face it,no one can avoid.
The Earth is always sending message to us,but most of us usually can not hear.
so...I think we have to keep an eye on our behaviors during the daily life to protect our environment.
B. How can you become a better global citizen?
To become a better global citizen,I think the simplest way is to cherish the natural resources we have.
It sounds easy, but it's hard to be done, because we often take what we have in our daily life for granted.
Cherish what we have and be grateful to be a better golal citizen : )

Almost everyone knows some Hayao Miyazaki's works . My neighborhood Totoro , Kiki's delivery service and Princess Mononoke are all famouse animations when we were little . His works just acompany us growing up . With a mysteriously unknown world and lots of magical characters , Spirited away has become my favorite one . Always , Hayao Miyazaki put warm and fragrant elements into creations , thus touching me deeply in the heart .
Miyazaki ' s films are not only full of magic and marvellous things that make people's imagination soar , but also suggest some important common themes to audiences , such as environmental protection ( ex : Princess Mononoke ) , antiwar thinking ( ex : Nausicaa ) , or maintaining a pacifist ethic . This is what I believe the most important part . Through these works , he conveyed his concern to the world , telling us how vital environmental protection and anti-war are . Combining animated films with important issues is really creative . With his creative style , Hayao Miyazaki has already become a legendary animated film director .

Dan Brown is a creative man and he is the author of numerous #1 bestsellers, including Digital Fortress, Angels & Demons, and Deception Point. His acclaimed novel—The Da Vinci Code—has become one of the most widely read books of all time. Why everyone love his novels?? Because he mixed the story with religion、science and art including historic monument. In 1996, his interest in code-breaking and covert government agencies led him to write his first novel, Digital Fortress. Set within the clandestine National Security Agency, the novel explores the fine line between civilian privacy and national security. Brown's follow-up techno-thriller, Deception Point, centered on similar issues of morality in politics, national security, and classified technology. The son of a Presidential Award winning math professor and of a professional sacred musician, Dan grew up surrounded by the paradoxical philosophies of science and religion. I think these complementary perspectives make him creative and served as inspiration for his acclaimed novel Angels & Demons—a science vs. religion thriller set within a Swiss physics lab and Vatican City. Recently, he has begun work on a series of symbology thrillers featuring his popular protagonist Robert Langdon, a Harvard professor of iconography and religious art. The upcoming series will include books set in Paris, London, and Washington D.C. And I am really looking forward to his new books.

I can always see her drawings sticking on the door. it's warm to see posters celebrating festivals (esp. for an overseas student)and it's drawn by lilian herself. on the other hand. I think creative is very important when producing an art. so I first think of lilian when talking about creativity. ^^

creative person:JK Rowling
I believe that the author of one of the world's best-selling novels Harry Potter is a creative person.
She was born in July 31, 1965, in England. Even though we all know her now as JK Rowling, but her given name at birth was Joanne Kathleen Rowling. She majored in French after her parents encouraged her into what they believed would be a wonderful career as a bilingual secretary. However, after graduating, it didn't take long for her to realize that she wasn't meant to be a secretary. She then became a teacher in English, which she enjoyed, because she could teach in the afternoon and evenings so that she could enjoy writing in the morning.
Unsuprisingly, JK Rowling started writing at a very young age. It was when she was teaching English that she started writing a novel about a "wizard". She got married, had a daughter, followed by divorce. Yet it was this time that made her more determined to finish her novel. After selling her first Harry Potter, she received enough money to give up teaching and write full time; she described this as her happiest moment of her life.
JK Rowling is very passionate about writing. She has practically been writing for all her life yet her love for it has never decreased. But what makes me really think that she's a creative person is her imagination. Think of the world she created in the Harry Potter series; that's not something anyone can do. The names, the characters, the story line, the rules in the magic world, the spells, the school, the creatures, just about everything is facinating. By the amount of copies sold and the languages translated, it is obvious that the gifted JK Rowling is a well-known creative person.

His attitude to work is definately conscientious and careful(also critical). He has positive qualities like energetic, imaginative, passionate and negative qualitie-- difficult which is another merit for a producer.

Three suggestion that he gave to teenagers who want to enter show business are as follows:
"First of all, passionate is very important. When you love it, you can find satisfaction and enjoyment from it. Do things that oneself likes to do, can learn a lot from it, why not? Secondly, enter relevant artistic training schools is necessary. Finally, everybody often sees the stars win instant fame, but does not know the diligent for many years, as the old saying goes " No thorns, no throne." "

In my opinion, Albert Einstein was one of the greatest men who was very special if not creative in the human history. Wasn't it amazing that he came up with the Relativity Theory and was awarded Nobel Prize for Physics, considering he could not speak clearly even at the age of nine. Looking at his early development, nobody would have suggested he would grow up to become a genius. When asked what profession Einstein should follow, his school principal replied, "It doesn't matter; he'll never make a success of anything."
During his high school years, he studied in a typical German school (he was a German) and at that time, German school were harshly disciplinarian. There he development a deep suspicion of authority and a skepticism that encouraged him to question and doubt. Those qualities I think made him a great scientist.
At the age of 26, he published a paper explaining the photoelectric effect via the quantum theory. Since then our concepts of space and time were radically changed. No one would disagree that he was the greatest physicist of our age.
Although I am not studying to become a scientist, I am inspired by Einstein life in the sense that he became such a great man even though he was less than ordinary when he was young. With dedication and hard work, shouldn't we university students, growing up in this IT era with a normal IQ, be confident enough to achieve whatever goal we aim for?

A creative person
When talk about a creative person, the first person that come up my mind is my grandmother. She is very creative because she can do lots of things. She can cooks many different kind of food, weaves sweaters, and makes clothes.I had remember that when I am in the elementary school, the sweater which I wore was always weaved by her!She can makes dumplings, noodles, rice dumplings and many other kind of things that can make by flour. The food my grandmother makes is so delicious that every one who had ever ate them say that my grandma can own a shop to sold them. The most delicious thing I think are rive dumplings!I had ate some famous rice dumpling before, but I think the one my grangma makes mas the most delicious! And the last thing way I think my grandmother is a creative person is that although she is old,she try to learn many new things! It's hard for one to learn more new things when they are that old!

A Creative Man
When it comes to creative man the first name flashes in my brain is Richard P. Feynman. He is a great scientist. Take a part in the invent of atom. It is obvious that he made some difference to science. However, the reason why I think he is a creative man is because he said that" You don't have to care about what others' say." It is not ask you to be a arrogant person but a man who is realistic. No matter who he is only when his word is reasonable that you have to care about. Hence, you have to think about every thing instead of just believe in what you hear. It push you to doubt about everything ,and you will believe in a principle only if you think it is reasonable. Hence, there are no rules for you, so you will be the most creative man.
Feynman had broken in the military station just want to try how is the security.

A. Transcribe the complete text.
Your attention please. Thank you for choosing Earth
as your planetary vehicle. We hope you enjoy the many
wonderful features of this planet as you hurtle through
the cosmos. Please note, however, that in the event of
continued inaction in the face of global warming, your
seat cushion can be used as a flotation device. Also,
please take a moment to locate this planet's emergency
exists. As you can see, there aren't any. Earth.
To America! Can you hear? Sending out a message loud
and clear. Can you hear?
B. What do you think of this performance?
what an amazing performance I've ever seen!
They technically indicated the deterioration of global
warming in an innovative way. They used the spurting-tube
of truck as a strong beat of the background music. They
always expressed some ideas with a sense of humor. In that,
we would be more easier to figure out what they are
trying to clear up.
Part II. About global citizenship
A. In what ways do you think you are already a global citizen?
In many aspects, I think I'm already a global citizen.
First of all, I usually get the latest affairs around the
world from internet.As a result, I know what's happening
all of the world. Second, according that English and
Chinese are both the most dominant languages in the world
temporarily and I've already learned Chinese, I determined to
master in English.
B. How can you become a better global citizen?
In my opinion, as long as I know there's disasters in some places,
I should not only feel pity for what agony those refugees
are experiencing but give they a hand.
There are some fundations raising funds in school for those
refugees in other countries. If I had any chances, I would
donate my allowance. Even if it's small numbers to me,
it will save one or more children in the other side of
the earth.

and reading ability B1(threshold).
This summer vacation I took a studying trip to
New Zealand. Although NZ was a colony of Great British
and uses English which is a little diffrent from American
English as a dominant language, I could still conversate
with Kiwis(people live in NZ). My biggest problem in
listening is that I can't understand what thay are
talking about when they speak quickly.
Sometimes I went shopping myself after language school,
I always looked around finding some words I didnt know through logos of shops
to prove my vacabulary ability. Moreover, I went to the movies
once a week. It really worked to enhance my listening
ability. The more I learned, the less I cant understand
both in reading and listening. Accordingly, I regard
my English ability both in reading and listening B1.

HOMEWORK 2 楊舜帆 u1587 "ECHO"
Undeniablly, English is one of the most dominant languages
in the world. As a result, learning it should be arranged
in our life plan in order to become more competetive in the
future.I would like to be capable of talking with foreigners in
English fluently.
well..first of all, I made it a rule listening to
the English radio ICRT about 20~30minutes every night.
Through the conversation I heard, I would do my best
to realize what they are talking about and repeated once.
second, in my opinion, I think that if learning attatched
to interest, it'll be more easier to learn efficiently.
so I usually watch HBO on weekend or whenever I'm free
after school. Not only listening but speaking ability has
improved owing that there's a lot of words, called speaking
English, they said in the movie never appeared in formal
article.
third, I'll be concentrated in English listening class

His first piano pop single, "Bad Day" debuted not in his home country of Canada, but rather in Europe in mid-2005. It was chosen by Warner Brothers as a submission for commercial production and was subsequently chosen by Coca-Cola as the theme song for an ad campaign in Europe. To date, this is arguably his most notable hit.
"Bad Day" is a pop song written by Canadian singer Daniel Powter. It was released as the first single from his debut album Daniel Powter (2005) and reached number one on the Canadian Singles Chart; it was also successful in the United Kingdom, where it reached number two on the UK Singles Chart. In the United States, it reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was also the number 1 song of the year on the Billboard Hot 100. Since its release, the song has sold/downloaded more than 15 million copies worldwide.
Bad day's lyrics describe most modern people's stress in daily lives. And besides, it also encourages people to be strong and everything will be fine in the end. Listening to his song, we not only feel released and also gain our strength back. Its melody is relaxed, and the lyrics are easy to memorize. Danniel's voice is clear and have its own specialty. Whenever we heard his songs, we cannot help but want to sing along with it.

u1587 - IF - GROUP WORK 1.
THE BAND BON JOVI
"It's my life~~~It's now or never~~I ain't gonna live forever~~"
It's maybe a common experience for everybody to have listen to this song and also the singer of this is well-known.
Do you know who I am going to introduce?
Yeah! It's Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi is a hard rock band from
After two moderately successful albums in 1984 and 1985, the band scored big with Slippery When Wet (1986) and New Jersey (1988), which sold a combined 19 million copies in the U.S. alone, charted eight Top Ten hits, and launched the band into global superstardom. After non-stop touring, the band went on hiatus after the New Jersey Tour in 1990, during which time Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora both released successful solo albums. In 1992, the band returned with the double platinum Keep the Faith and has since created a string of platinum albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, also expanding their musical horizons, combining rock with such genres as pop, adult contemporary, and country. The band has also been credited with inspiring the MTV Unplugged series with their famous sit-down acoustic performance at the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards.
In 2006, the band won a Grammy for best Country Collaboration for "Who Says You Can't Go Home" with Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland and also became the first rock band to reach #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart with the same song. They have also been nominated twice for the smash hit "It's My Life" and two songs from the album Bounce, "Misunderstood" and "Everyday".
It's My Life" became the most successful Bon Jovi single, hitting #1 across many countries and most importantly, becoming a symbol of band's longevity as they prevailed through many different changes in the mainstream rock scene with admirable success. It was credited with reviving their career after they came off a five year break, during which they each pursued individual solo careers. It was also credited with introducing the veteran band to an entirely new, younger audience.

It's My Life lyrics
This ain't a song for the broken-hearted
No silent prayer for the faith-departed
I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
You're gonna hear my voice
When I shout it out loud
[Chorus:]
It's my life
It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just wanna live while I'm alive
It's my life
This is for the ones who stood their ground
For Tommy and Gina who never backed down
Tomorrow's getting harder make no mistake
Luck ain't even lucky
Got to make your own breaks
[Chorus:]
It's my life
And it's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just want to live while I'm alive
'Cause it's my life
Better stand tall when they're calling you out
Don't bend, don't break, baby, don't back down
